Installation View. A life-sized Greek Ionic column from the Hall of Fame for Great Americans on the Bronx Community College campus is drawn in graphite on the wall.
Throughout the course of the exhibition, viewers are invited to erase the column piece by piece until all that is left is a void on the wall. This void is representative of our incomplete accounts in history books. Despite repeated efforts, smudges and faint lines still remain. Futile attempts to erase the past invites reflection into how traces from the past persist in the present, and how we must not repeat our mistakes.
